The Town of Pacolet is embarking on a new project by completing a new Comprehensive Plan and a Master Plan. The Comprehensive Plan describes how the community wants to see development happen in Pacolet over the next 20 years. The comprehensive plan is foundational to municipal and county planning and development programs. Cities, towns and counties are required to adopt comprehensive plans consisting of 10 elements in order to enforce zoning and land development regulations (i.e. subdivision regs). Without a comprehensive plan, those ordinances are technically unenforceable. And cities and counties are required to review their comprehensive plans at the 5-year mark following adoption and to then revise / overhaul their comprehensive plans at the 10-year mark. Comp plans typically contain a number of goals within the 10 required elements and each goal has implementation strategies and timeframes for completion. This is your opportunity to tell Town Hall what you want in Pacolet for the future.
The Master Plan focuses on strategic areas of the community to determine exactly what should happen in those areas to encourage growth and investment for Pacolet and its residents. These areas of focus are shown below. Please consider getting involved in this process and making sure that your voice is heard so that Pacolet develops the way that you want to see it grow over the next 20 years.
A website has been created to help you get involved and see the process as it unfolds.
