From the Desk of the Administrator

October 2020

This past month I celebrated my one-year anniversary as your Town Administrator. I have enjoyed getting to know many of the wonderful citizens in Town. Pacolet is a special place, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help the Town move forward. As a Town, we must continue to work together to address and correct issues that arise. If you have an issue, problem or complaint you would like addressed please know you can always reach me by email (agantte@townofpacolet.com) or by phone (864-474-9442).

New News: Pacolet Pumpkin Patch- Join us in Pacolet on Halloween night from 4PM-7PM for a scavenger hunt around Town. Make your way through Town and collect candy from all the ‘pumpkins’. Get each location marked off and bring your completed map to the Pacolet Police Department to receive a free hot dog meal to take home with you. Maps can be picked up at any of the participating locations. We will have 400 meals to hand out and they will be given first come first serve. Thank you to Banana Box Bin Deals, Pacolet Tire and Farm Supply, Black Cat Auto and Diesel, IGA, General Store of Pacolet, Pacolet Fire District, and the Pacolet Police Department for participating and making this event possible for our community.

New News: SCDPS JAG Grant- The Pacolet Police Department was a recipient of this years South Carolina Department of Public Safety Justice Assistance Grant. The Police Department will be able to purchase a new equipped patrol vehicle with the funds. Congratulations to the Police Department!

New News: COVID-19 Testing– The Town of Pacolet has teamed with Church Alive – Health Outreach and Family Support group to provide confidential drive-thru COVID-19 testing to our community before spending time with friends and family celebrating Thanksgiving. Testing will take place at the Pacolet Police Department on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 10 AM to 2 PM. You do not have to be showing symptoms to get tested. Results will be received within 72 hours. Please bring your photo ID and medical insurance card. You can visit the Town of Pacolet Facebook page for more information.

Old News: Pacolet Indian Summer Festival – Thank you to everyone who came and spent the day in the Flats enjoying great food, music, and fellowship. Typically, the Indians are the festivals paid entertainment, unfortunately this year they did not show interest in coming, we were told due to COVID-19. We reallocated those funds and were able to add some great music additions to the festival this year. A special thank you to Lindsey Davis for planning and coordinating the festival. Without her tireless effort, the festival would not have been possible. Thank you, Lindsey!
