From the Desk of the Administrator
April 2020
I want to thank the citizens of Pacolet for their great effort is slowing the spread of COVID-19. As of today (4/21) there is 8 reported cases in the 29372 zip-code. Please continue to follow the Governor’s recommendations and practice social distancing. We will hopefully be able to resume life as normal soon.
Old News: Crews will begin construction on the new picnic shelter at the T.W. Edwards Park at the end of this month. It will be completed by the start of summer and will be a great place for families to enjoy a nice picnic at the park. I have also been contacted about putting benches around the new playground equipment. I have reached out to Spartanburg Parks and Recreation and hope to have an answer soon.
Old News: Construction has started on the 150 bridge over the Pacolet River. The bridge will remain open throughout the resurfacing but will be down to one lane. There will be a portable automatic traffic signal placed on both sides of the bridge to control traffic. Please be aware and cautious of the workers and schedule a few extra minutes to pass over the bridge.
New News: In an effort to increase code enforcement in Town, I have set up a contact form on the Town’s website. Please use this link to report any suspected code violations https://www.townofpacolet.com/police/. If we all work together, we can achieve the ultimate goal of keeping Pacolet a clean and safe community.
New News: Sadly, due to COVID-19 and the importance of social distancing we will be cancelling Clean Up Pacolet that was scheduled for this Saturday. We will reschedule this event at a later date.
New News: Please join me in welcoming John Alexander as the new Police Chief for the Town of Pacolet. Chief Alexander had been serving in the Interim Police Chief role since mid-February. Chief Alexander has wonderful ideas and goals to help make the community safer and allow for more community involvement.
