BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, & COMMITTEES
.
.
Many decisions and recommendations are formed through the Town’s Boards, Commissions, and Committees. Boards and Commissions help shape and carry out policies that affect the community’s future. Becoming a member allows citizens to give their input, making our town a better place to live and raise a family. The Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission members are appointed and serve until their term expires. Anyone can attend a meeting, and town residents can sign up to speak. Local citizens wishing to apply for appointment to a Town of Pacolet board or commission may submit a potential member application. The town council considers applications at a meeting immediately following an opening.
Citizen Committees are a more informal way to serve your community. Everyone is invited to attend, share their ideas, and volunteer their time. Various citizen committees are started for special events, such as the River Fest Committee, the Christmas Committee, and the Farmers Market Committee. Other committees, such as the History Committee, have been made to complete an ongoing project.
The planning commission and board of zoning appeals meet on the 1st Monday of every month. Meeting dates and times can be located in this PDF. Sign up using the form at the bottom of this page to show interest in joining a board, commission, or citizen committee.
